Chris Martin says he’ll continue Coldplay’s use of ‘kiss cam’ despite controversy

(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Chris Martin committed to continuing Coldplay's use of a "kiss cam" during a concert in Hull on August 19.

He jokingly addressed the awkward moment the camera stirred controversy when it captured a CEO and his colleague in an embrace.

In video posted to Instagram, Martin can be seen saying, "We've been doing this a long time, and it's only recently that it became…yeah," referring to the moment Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his HR Chief Kristin Cabot were startled by the camera on July 16, and subsequently went viral.

"But life throws you lemons and you've got to make lemonade," he continued. "So, we're gonna keep doing it because we want to meet some of you."

Following the controversy, Byron and Cabot both resigned from their respective roles at the company.
