California woman rescued after being stuck in a chimney

SAN FERNANDO, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A woman in San Fernando, California was rescued Tuesday night after she got stuck in a chimney.

The dramatic rescue happened at a recreation center and it was all captured on camera.

Crews were called to the building at about 8:00 p.m. Pacific. They used ropes, ladders and a harness to pull the 30-year-old woman out of the chimney.

The rescue took them about 30 minutes.

Fire crews say the woman was at least three-feet deep inside the chimney and was conscious and alert during the rescue.

She was airlifted to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
