Young firefighter dead after rollover crash in Los Algodones

LOS ALGODONES, B.C. (KYMA, KECY/T3) - A firefighter was found dead from a rollover crash in Los Algadones.

In the morning of July 31, a rollover crash was reported, where multiple people were injured on a highway.

Two people from the Los Algodones Fire Department were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Melissa Galván, a 22-year-old firefighter, was reportedly severely injured and was taken to a private hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Her colleague, Miguel, was injured and reported to be in intensive care.

The crash occurred when they were returning from a service from Ciudad Morelos. It is believed that a vehicle blocked their path, so the driver of the vehicle, who has more than 30 years of service, made a maneuver to avoid the impact.

Fire Director Rubén Darío Osuna stated that the young woman's father and her husband are also firefighters in the city.

Osuna affirmed that full support will be provided to the bereaved.
