Hikers in Arizona rescued from Camelback Mountain after suffering heat-related symptoms
(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Several hikers were rescued from mountain trails across the Valley after experiencing heat-related symptoms on Saturday.
In Phoenix, two people needed to be rescued off of Camelback Mountain after suffering heat-related symptoms on Saturday afternoon.
Crews responded to the first rescue around 11 a.m. when a group of eight hikers from out of town were struggling to get down the Echo Canyon Trail near McDonald Drive and Tatum Boulevard.
Phoenix Fire says six hikers were able to make it down the trail with assistance.
One hiker needed to be taken down the mountain using the Big Wheel stretcher and was taken to the hospital.
