13 contestants participate in Adam Sandler look-alike contest

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - An Adam Sandler contest Friday afternoon in Manhattan drew more than a dozen contestants.

13 contestants came out to Vesuvio playground in Soho Friday to make their case as the best Sandler doppelgänger.

They donned their favorite Sandler looks, from his roles in "Happy Gilmore" to "Little Nicky" and even Saturday Night Live.

The prize: $50 and a jar of pickles.

One of the contestants, named Jason, was declared the winner of the contest.

"People tell me, I wouldn't say every day, but I would say every week, especially when I meet a new person, 'Oh by the way, you look like what's his name, you look like Adam Sandler.' In every relationship, every person I meet, that is always the first thing. Once we get past that, they get used to it, it doesn't continually come up but yes, everyone I meet has to tell me that I look like Adam Sandler. The biggest advantage I had from looking like Adam Sandler is I was able to attract my wife."

Unfortunately, the real Adam Sandler wasn't there to greet his fans, but they were excited for his newest movie "Happy Gilmore 2," which was filmed in New Jersey and was released on Netflix Friday!
