Fire in Utah destroys two apartment buildings

MILLCREEK, Utah (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A massive fire in Millcreek, Utah destroyed two apartment buildings Friday.

Authorities say the blaze started at the Willow Glen Apartments at around 2:00 p.m. Mountain after a lawnmower at a nearby property sparked a brush fire.

Firefighters evacuated all residents before the fast-moving, wind-fueled fire destroyed two of the four apartment buildings.

Heavy smoke and water damage in the other two buildings resulted in an evacuation order for all of the apartment complex, leaving 24 units impacted and 79 people displaced.

No residents were injured, but four firefighters sustained minor injures while battling the blaze.
