New poll shows Democratic voters more energized, but party image hits historic low
(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - A new CNN poll conducted by SSRS reveals that Democratic voters are significantly more motivated than Republicans to participate in next year's midterm elections.
According to the data, 72% of Democrats say they are "extremely motivated" to vote, a full 22 points higher than Republican respondents.
Despite that enthusiasm, the poll also highlights a major challenge for the party: public perception. Just 28% of Americans view the Democratic Party favorably, the lowest favorability rating for Democrats in CNN polling history, which dates back to 1992.
The results raise questions about whether the party can turn voter energy into electoral success, especially as negative views of Democratic officeholders and party leadership persist across much of the electorate.
