The upgrades estimated estimated price tag is expected between $500 million and $1 billion. The plans are to modernize the 27-year-old stadium and address various infrastructure issues

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The renovations are part of a larger effort to ensure the Diamondbacks remain at Chase Field beyond the current lease, which expires in 2027.

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs signed the bill HB2704 approving up to $500 million in public funding for the project, primarily through redirected sales taxes.

The public funding is secured for the next 30 years. To ensure the team's long-term commitment, the legislation includes financial penalties if the Diamondbacks leave Chase Field before 2050.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, who operate the stadium, will also contribute at least $250 million.

The renovations are part of a larger effort to ensure the Diamondbacks remain at Chase Field beyond the current lease, which expires in 2027.

The upgrades are estimated to cost between $500 million and $1 billion, aim to modernize the 27-year-old stadium and address various infrastructure issues such as improvements to air conditioning systems and the stadium’s retractable roof.

Plans also include new retail spaces, restaurants, and potentially a hotel and office space.

Overall, the renovations aim to modernize Chase Field, improve the fan experience, and contribute to the economic development of the surrounding area.
