President Trump says Israel agreed to ceasefire conditions in Gaza

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - President Donald Trump says Israel has agreed to the "necessary conditions" to finalize the ceasefire deal in Gaza.

President Trump posted to Truth Social saying his representatives "had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis" Tuesday.

Trump said, "I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this deal, because it will not get better it will only get worse."

Israel has yet to confirm the president's announcement and there has been no response from Hamas on the ceasefire.

Trump has pushed for an end to the Israel-Hamas conflict after Israel broke an earlier ceasefire agreement by launching a series of deadly airstrikes in March.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to visit the White House next Monday.
