Tesla car delivers itself to its owner in Texas

AUSTIN, Texas (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A Tesla car delivered itself to its owner on Friday.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on X the Model Y drove from Gigafactory Texas to its new owner's home 30 minutes away.

The vehicle crossed parking lots and highways on its journey.

There was no one in the car during the trip and there were no remote operators in control at any point.

Musk said the first fully autonomous drive was completed a day ahead of schedule.
