President Trump announces U.S. attack on nuclear sites in Iran

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - President Donald Trump says U.S. Air Forces dropped bombs on three nuclear sites in Iran Saturday.

The president posted a statement on Truth Social, and also distributed to the media via email, saying, "We have completed our very successful attack on the three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Eshfahan."

President Trump added, "All planes are now outside of Iran air space" with congratulations going to the military for carrying out the mission.

He also issued a follow-up post on Truth Social saying he will be giving an address to the nation at 10:00 p.m. Eastern at the White House.

This announcement comes two days after the White House said Trump would decide whether to get involved over a period of a few weeks, to offer a window for negotiations.
