Majority of Americans oppose President Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - According to a new poll, a majority of Americans oppose President Donald Trump's proposed tax policy bill.

House Republicans passed the "One Big, Beautiful Bill Act" and it's currently being discussed by the Senate.

According to a new poll from the nonpartisan health research group KFF, 64% of Americans have an unfavorable view of the measure.

The mega-bill's main focus is to extend President Trump's 2017 tax cuts.

The House version also aims to fulfill several of Trump's campaign promises, including temporarily eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and auto loan interest while the Republican-led Senate Finance Committee's proposal calls for sweeping cuts to Medicaid.

However, the poll results skew along partisan lines as the vast majority of Democrats and Independents have an unfavorable opinion of the bill while a majority of Republicans view it favorably.
