Lester Holt signs off on anchoring the NBC Nightly News
(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt has signed off the program for the last time.
Holt served as the voice of Nightly News for the last decade as he's delivered stories from across the country and around the world.
He announced he was stepping down earlier this year.
During his time with Nightly News, he's interviewed presidents, vice presidents, world leaders, and tech innovators about powerful issues our country faces.
Holt joined the network back in 2000 and began appearing on Nightly News as early as 2003.
Holt now moves to Dateline, where he will continue to be part of the NBC News lineup.
"I'll miss our evenings together and I'll miss our team that puts it all together. My dear friends and my colleagues. But for now, I just want to say thank you to my incredibly supportive and patient family and all of you. NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas premieres Monday and I wish Tom great success. I'll see you on Dateline. In the meantime, please continue to take care of yourself and each other and I'll do the same."
