Changing future COVID-19 vaccine approvals

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) – Changes are on the way for COVID-19 vaccines. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is adjusting the standard of evidence needed for shots to be approved by the general public.

That would make it very similar for a vaccine recommendation used in Canada, the UK, and Australia.

The agency says that COVID-19 boosters are expected to be available for this fall on the elderly population and people with health issues that make them more susceptible for these infections.

However, the FDA says that it needs to see enough positive data from the placebo-based trials before recommending Covid-19 booster shots before other groups get involved.
