Firefighters in Northern California battle Guadalupe Fire
SOUTH SAN JOSE, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Firefighters responded to a brush fire near the Guadalupe landfill in South San Jose, California, Friday.
The blaze was burning in Almaden Valley.
Firefighters said it was a Tier 1 brush fire with a moderate rate of spread.
At least 15 acres have burned, according to WatchDuty.org. Cal Fire said they responded to the blaze with the San Jose Fire Department.
Firefighters, before 5 p.m. Pacific, reported forward progress against the blaze had been stopped, and while the fire remains active, it is 70% contained.
