Kofa softball star Jazmyn “JJ” Martinez signs to Scottsdale Community College

The region defensive player of the year will be taking her talents onto the Artichokes program

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Kofa softball player Jazmyn "JJ" Martinez signed her letter of commitment to join the Scottsdale Artichokes Tuesday afternoon.

"Scottsdale is a great community, the coaching staff, the players themselves, it just drove me to to the campus, to the program itself," Martinez said.

Martinez was one of the Lady Kings' best players in her time with the program, and her senior season may have been her most impressive.

The senior claimed the Desert Southwest region defensive player of the year with the AIA.

Martinez also says her head coach Rachele Martinez played a big role in her success.

"100% of an effect on me, I mean, coach Rocky herself, we've got more than just, a coach player relationship, I mean, we had a relationship beyond, so for her to get me into this program, it's constant, a big blessing," Martinez said.
