Sesame Street is moving to Netflix

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Elmo, Big Bird and the rest of the Sesame Street gang have a new home.

The iconic children's series set to air on Netflix later this year as part of a new deal with the streaming giant after Warner Bros. Discovery decided not to renew its deal with the show.

Sesame Street is entering its 56th season and will have new episodes released in three batches.

No release dates have been given, but the streamer did reveal that fans should expect a slightly new format when the show returns.

Netflix also plans to develop video games for the Sesame Street franchise.

According to a release from Sesame Workshop, "These new episodes of the iconic series will be available same day-and-date in the U.S. On PBS stations and PBS Kids digital platforms, bringing critical early learning to children throughout the country for free."
