At two dead as tornado hits southeast Missouri

(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A tornado was reported to have touched down in Scott County, Missouri, on Friday, leaving two people dead.

Footage captured by X user Jack Lowry shows ominous dark clouds swirling north of Sikeston as the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a tornado warning for nearby Vanduser.

In a separate post, the NWS said, "Confirmed tornado reported just southeast of Bell City, MO. SEEK SHELTER NOW if you live in Vanduser, Haywood City or Blodgett, MO."

The Scott County 911 Emergency Service Board said emergency crews were responding to the damage from the "destructive storm system."
