CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Fire station in Maryland inundated with floodwaters

WESTERNPORT, Md. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A flash flooding emergency was declared by the National Weather Service for parts of western Maryland Tuesday and footage from a fire station in that area showed exactly what was in store.

Video from Potomac Fire Company No. 2 shows their fire station inundated with floodwaters in Westernport.

Maryland Gov Wes Moore said officials were "closely monitoring the flood conditions…across Western Maryland."

Police, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and dive teams were dispatched, he said.

The State Emergency Department said the flood warning would remain in effect until Wednesday morning.

A GoFundMe was created for emergency repairs and cleanup, replace essential medical and rescue equipment and restore operation readiness.
