Gila Ridge Tennis wraps up season After State Tournament run

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Gila Ridge High School’s tennis season came to a close after both the boys and girls teams dropped their opening-round matchups in the state tournament.

The boys team faced Millennium and fell short, while the girls team matched up against Arizona College Prep.

In the individual bracket, Aeden Hudson lost his first-round singles match to Highland, while the doubles team of Elisa Schmidt and Rei Jimenez were defeated by the #2-seeded duo from Desert Mountain.

Despite the early exits, the Hawks finish the year with pride, having repeated as section champions. Coach Greg Brown thanked the senior class for their leadership and said "he's excited to build on this success next season."
