North Carolina mother and daughter found safe after being kidnapped

GARNER, N.C. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Police say a woman and her one-year-old daughter were found safe after they were kidnapped overnight from their home in Garner Tuesday.

According to the Garner Police Department (GPD), the kidnapping occurred in the area of Buck Branch Drive.

Police said two men and one woman, wearing masks and armed with guns, broke into the home and demanded $1 million from one of the victims.

When he refused, the suspects grabbed his daughter and wife, identified as Alondra Michelle Benitez-De Jesus, while restraining the husband with tape.

The suspects' vehicle was a black or dark colored Nissan Altima.

An Amber Alert was issued for Benitez-De Jesus and her daughter, identified as 13-month-old Grecia Salome Alejandro-Benitez, but according to a CBS affiliate in the Raleigh area, they were found safe in Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Along with GPD, the FBI and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations are investigating the incident, the CBS affiliate said.
