National Weather Service to resume translated weather alerts
(CNN, KYMA/KECY) – The National Weather Service (NWS) will once again translate its weather alerts for people who do not speak English.
This was a paused earlier this month when a contract with an AI translator provider expired.
That led to concerns that non-English speakers could miss out on some important weather information during active spring severe weather season.
NWS plans to resume these translations on its products starting April 28.
