Large plumes of smoke prompts road closures in Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A tire fire erupted in Tucson, prompting road closures and evacuations on April 15.

Pima County Sheriff's Department and fire department personnel responded to the scene.

"There are road closures in the area. Please find alternative routes of travel while the blaze is being extinguished," the department said.

According to local news reports, surrounding businesses were evacuated.

There were no reports of injuries.
