Temperatures staying very warm for the weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Another day in the triple-digits and another daily record high broken for both Yuma and El Centro this afternoon!!!! Yuma topped out at 102°, and El Centro reached 103°. Even though this isn't the hottest we have seen, this is still very unseasonable for early April.

Unseasonably warm temperatures will persist across the region through Saturday as strong high pressure continues to stay put with many areas in the Desert Southwest reaching the triple-digits.

As a weather system passes well to our north, winds will increase this weekend leading to elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions.

Breezier and stronger winds will favor more in Imperial County on Saturday.

Cooler temperatures, but still remaining above normal, can be expected late this weekend through next week as highs will trend in the low and mid-90s. Eventually cooler temperatures will move in late next week.

Also, don't forget the April's full Pink Moon will peak in our skies on Saturday evening.

Remember with the warm temperatures it's important to still practice heat safety.

Make sure to drink plenty of water and try to stay cool throughout the weekend.
