Staying very warm with record highs being possible through Friday

Unseasonably warm temperatures will impact the Desert Southwest through the rest of the week due to a strong high pressure system. Daytime highs are expected to peak Friday and we could see highs in the low 100s.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - FIRST TRIPLE-DIGIT DAY OF THE YEAR!!!! Yuma and El Centro both hit the triple-digit mark this afternoon plus they both beat their daily record highs for today's date. Tracking more record-breaking temperatures again tomorrow! Stay tuned!!!!

A ridge of high pressure is keeping our winds light, mostly clear skies, and dry conditions for the rest of the week.

However, temperatures will remain warmer and unseasonable with highs trending about 15°+ above normal.

Breezy conditions will increase this weekend, while temperatures cool into the upper 80s to low 90s range late weekend into next week.

Also, don't forget the April's full Pink Moon will peak in our skies on Saturday evening.

Even though temperatures will cool down just a little bit this weekend it's still going to be in the 90s and above average.

Remember with the warm temperatures it's important to still practice heat safety.

Make sure to drink plenty of water and try to stay cool throughout the day.
