Fox strikes out 15 in Yuma Catholic’s shut out win

Yuma Catholic's Mickey Fox strikes out 15 in a shut out win over River Valley.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Mickey Fox struck out 15 batters to lead Yuma Catholic to a 4-0 victory over River Valley on Monday.

Yuma Catholic moves to 6-1. River Valley falls to 4-1.

In the second inning, Yuma Catholic took a 1-0 lead Hiram Silva drove in Xavier Arballo to give the Shamrocks a 1-0 lead. In the the fifth inning, Joey Carey stole home to make it 2-0.

The Shamrocks would tack on two more runs to close out the 4-0 victory and hand River Valley their first regular season loss.

For the Shamrocks, Fox pitched 6.2 innings striking out 15, while only surrendering one hit.

On Thursday, Yuma Catholic will play at Highland Prep.
