More than $220,000 seized, two Chinese nationals arrested

NEEDLES, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - More than $220,000 was seized during a vehicle stop on Interstate 40 (I-40) last week.

According to the U.S. Border Patrol Yuma Sector's post on social media, the stop happened last Wednesday near Needles, California.

The post says the agents stopped the minivan and found two of four Chinese nationals "illegally present in the U.S."

The agents, according to the post, also found the money "concealed in aluminum foil in two duffel bags."

According to the post, the Chinese nationals, a 38-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, were arrested and charged.
