Student arrested after making threat on social media to Immaculate Conception School
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A boy was arrested after Yuma Police Department (YPD) investigated a threat made to Immaculate Conception School.
At about 2:18 p.m. on March 24, YPD received reports of a threat posted to social media regarding Immaculate Conception School.
YPD says their investigation found a private message was sent to students by an unknown person about a threat.
A security check was made with help from the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center.
On March 27, YPD found that the social media account that made the threat belonged to a 12-year-old boy at Immaculate Conception School.
Police talked to the boy, who said it was a joke with no intent of a real threat.
The student was arrested, charged with a felony, and was taken to the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center.
