Consumer confidence hits lowest point since January 2021

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) – Americans don't seem to have much faith in our economy right now.

Consumer confidence this month slid down to reading of 92.9.

That's the lowest level since January of 2021.

The survey also showed that Americans are expecting higher inflation this year and more are predicting that the economy will slip into a recession once again.

The combination of a weakening and growth and accelerating inflation resembles stagflation and Federal Reserve officials are also seeing the U.S. economy trending in that direction as well.
