Local country music artist Bobby McClendon celebrates upcoming album

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Country music artist and Yuma native Bobby McClendon was back home for a special celebration: His highly anticipated full-length debut album, "30 East."

The celebration happened at the Sage & Sand Cocktail Lounge at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, where McClendon performed a sold-out show, giving fans an exclusive first listen to his new music before it is released next month.

"It's my first album since 2016. I put out a bunch of singles ever since then, but I was like, you know what, I think it's time to put out a full body of work, so we've been working on this for almost two years, and I wanted to come back and do it here. So it's just..it's a fun process. A lot of work, but I get to do it with my best friends, like my band. Me, these guys been together forever...they're my best friends. We go pretty much we spend more time together than we do with anybody else."

McClendon says the concert was all about giving back to the community who supported his journey.

If you missed Saturday's show, you don't have to wait too long as the album drops on all digital platforms on April 11.
