City of El Centro accepting applications for council member

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of El Centro is looking to fill an empty seat for a new council member.

The applications period is open starting this Saturday until April 6.

Applications are available online and in person at the city clerk's office.

Completed applications can be submitted by email or in person.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, live in El Centro, and be a registered voter in the city.

The top five candidates will be interviewed in mid-April.

The new council member will be announced April 21.
