Day two of the Yuma Fresh Vegetable Association’s AG Summit

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Thursday was the second day of the annual AG Summit put on by the Yuma Fresh Vegetable Association.

The second day focuses more on learning in a classroom environment and networking.

Various companies were able to interact with other conference attendees.

"A lot of our customers grow, ship, pack, process here in the Yuma valley, so we come here to network with them making sure their needs are met, their audit experiences are good," said Angela Lazzerini the customer relations account manager for Primus Auditing OPS.

The summit also hosts classrooms to discuss some of the newer agriculture innovations and discoveries

"Learning about all of the different things that people are working on sustainability, integrated pest management, you know new technologies, water management...It's all so integrated," said Gina Colfer, the Wilber-Ellis sustainable solutions agronomy manager.

Because of the summit’s location at Arizona Western College these agriculture companies are able to reach a younger newer audience.

"A lot of the students have stopped by... and we were here last year as well and we talked with a lot of students and they're just kind of figuring out what they want to do within the AG industry. There's a lot of options,” said Lazzerini.
