US Naval Sea Cadet Corp holds Flag Retirement ceremony

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The US Naval Sea Cadet Corp held a Flag Retirement Ceremony at the Yuma Armed Forces Park Saturday evening.

The annual ceremony serves to dispose of tattered flags in a respectful way that aligns with the Corps values.

The towering flag at the Armed Forces Park was slowly lowered by cadets, who then folded the flag with careful precision.

Multiple flags were honored and disposed via fire in the American Flag Retirement Ring, a fire pit dedicated to Those Who Served.
