Pioneers Memorial continues to serve the community
CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)-Pioneers Memorial Hospital continues to make its footprint in the city of Calexico by meeting the medical needs of the community.
On Wednesday, the health agency held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrates its newest health center for residents.
The new center costs up to $4 million and features thirty exam rooms and offers more services than before.
Dr. Clara Padron-Spence, the Medical Director of the Calexico Health Center said, "We were also very limited in the number of patients we could take because of the exam rooms and the physicians that worked here. So by expanding, we're able to bring more providers. Whether that is doctors, nurse practitioners, P.A's. We can now see more patients on a day to day basis."
Health officials said the new health center is vital for patients who have a difficult time finding transportation.
