Ed Smart, father of kidnapping survivor Elizabeth Smart, visits Yuma

He relives the moment his daughter was kidnapped

Advocate for victims of abuse, Ed Smart, paid a visit to the Yuma over the weekend. He was the keynote speaker for Amberly's Place, an annual event for the 'dream gala.' 

Mr. Smart is the father of Elizabeth Smart, the 14-year-old girl who was abducted at knifepoint in her Salt Lake City home in June 2002.

Smart was held hostage for nine-months where she said she was repeatedly drugged and raped.

“I got downstairs, saw the cut screen and that was when it really sank in that someone took Elizabeth," said Smart.
