Two people found dead in California house fire
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Los Angeles authorities found two bodies “on the premises” of a three-structure property in Los Angeles Sunday.
Crews needed over an hour to knock down the house fire, which spread to two nearby structures, because the sound of gunfire coming from inside the fiery blaze forced firefighters to stand back out of concern for their safety, according to KCBS.
"We went into a defensive operation, meaning that we surrounded that home due to the concern we are working very close with law enforcement. We did notify bomb squad. However, since this building is so structurally compromised due to the amount of fire and char and burn...it's not safe for police officers to go inside."

The victims have not been publicly identified and no cause of the fire has been announced. However, the LAFD announced that one of the victims was a woman.
Not only that, a neighbor, Corey Macgregor, said a firefighter rescued a parrot from the house fire.
"One firefighter brought out a parrot...brought it out and it was, it was okay. And he just had to have somebody hold onto us. The neighbor grabbed it, asked me if I wanted it, but I can't hold a parrot, but hopefully the parrot will be fine and find a home."
