FIRST ALERT FORECAST: High temperatures remaining in place as storms are still a possibility for Yuma

Temps inching closer to 120 as rain could still be coming through Yuma County over the weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Historically hot conditions continue through at least Saturday with well above normal temperatures through next week.

Excessive Heat Warnings remain in effect through Saturday across the region, and continue over Greater Phoenix through Sunday.

Thunderstorm chances trend upward from west to east over the region Friday through Sunday.

This will be followed by a gradual downtrend from west to east.

The most common widespread impact from the storm activity will be areas of strong wind as opposed to heavy rain.
