D.C. lab tests confirm cocaine found in White House
WASHINGTON, D.C. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - NBC News has learned that lab tests of a white powder found at the White House Sunday has confirmed that it was cocaine, according to an official with knowledge of the investigation.
A Secret Service official said the substance was found by officers during routine patrols of the White House.
It was in a highly trafficked part of the White House in a small, zippered bag and there was a brief evacuation of the area.
How long the bag was in the White House is unclear and since it was found in a busy area, a source familiar with the investigation says it will be hard to determine who is responsible for the substance.
President Biden was at Camp David when the powder was discovered.
