Florida skyline displays digital U.S. flag ahead of the Fourth of July

MIAMI, Flor. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - The world's tallest digital American flag and fireworks display lit up the South Florida skyline.

Between Monday and Tuesday night, a 700-foot-high digital American flag flew along Paramount Miami WorldCenter skyscraper.

The 60-story building sported a $3 million lighting system.

In addition to the massive flag, an enormous electronic fireworks display was also lighting the tower. The lighting system can create 16.7 million color combinations.

It consists of more 13,000 LEDs, and took a team of 12 technicians three years to design and install.
