Fourth of July celebrates begin in some U.S. states

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Fourth of July celebrations have already begun in some states across the country.

In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, thousands gathered for a lakefront fireworks show. This year's fireworks were launched from a roped-off sections of Veterans Park as opposed to barges on Lake Michigan. Milwaukee's is one of the largest fireworks shows in the surrounding states.

In Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Red, White and Boom Island celebration featured a patriotic drone show in lieu of fireworks on Monday. The lasers came from ten small machines. Each with the power to light up an arena. Spectators had to watch the show from Boom Island Park as the lasers did not go as high as fireworks.

Finally, in Columbus, Ohio, Red, White and Boom, the largest fireworks show in the midwest, returned to the city. The fireworks were set off from the east bank of Benoa Park.
