California suspects at large following pursuit leading to crash

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Suspects who led deputies on a pursuit that ended in a crash in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo remain at large.

This all began at around 5:30pm Saturday when deputies attempted a traffic stop on a white Mercedes that was wanted in connection to a felony in Gardena.

The vehicle fled, leading deputies on pursuit that ended in Little Tokyo when the car hit a patrol car.

Officials said at least two suspects ran from the scene into the Japanese Village Plaza.

The abandoned vehicle then rolled into a parked car. The incident sent crowds gathered at the plaza running for cover.

"I heard a big crash, then, obviously, the chopper overhead and then realized it was something a little more serious, it wasn't going away. It's something like out of a videogame. It's like Grand Theft Auto, but right in front of the shop," said one onlooker.

No injuries were reported and an investigation is ongoing.
