Federal Government ordered 2.5 million more doses of Monkeypox vaccines

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV/ CNN) - The federal government has ordered more Jynneos Monkeypox vaccines.

The Department of Health and Human Services announced Friday an order of an additional two-and-a-half million doses of the vaccine.

That's on top of the half a million doses the U.S. has already purchased but are being held by the company.

It's all part of the Biden Administration's effort to address the recent spread of the Monkeypox infection in the United States.

Monkeypox cases are typically only seen in Africa.
