Seasonable heat for now and gustier winds on the way

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - The Excessive Heat Warning expired for the Yuma and Imperial Counties, but still remain in effect for eastern Arizona until 8 p.m. Friday.

Temperatures will cool down slightly to near average through the weekend, only to heat back up to 110+ early next week.

Also, early next week, there is monsoonal moisture moving into southeastern Arizona where there are some chances for isolated thunderstorms, this is something the Weather Authority team will be looking out for.

Heading into the evening, winds will be breezy across the area.

Stronger winds and blowing dust will begin to arrive late tomorrow afternoon, and will strengthen during the nighttime hours across the Desert Southwest.

Higher gusts of 40 MPH will be possible in Imperial County, where blowing dust and unhealthy air quality will become a concern.

Dry and breezy conditions each afternoon will result in elevated fire weather concerns.
