The deadliest smuggling incident in history
(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - In Texas, four people have been indicted in a suspected semi-truck smuggling operation that left dozens of migrants dead last month.
Federal grand juries returned indictments Wednesday –- calling it the deadliest human smuggling incident in u-s history.
53 migrants died and nearly a dozen others were hospitalized for heat-related conditions after they were found inside a semi-truck in San Antonio.
If convicted, the men could face the death penalty on the most serious charges.
Their attorneys have not yet responded.
