Diamondbacks force Game 7 in the NLCS
Arizona wins Game 6 in Philadelphia to level the series at 3-3
PHILADELPHIA (KYMA, KECY) - Merrill Kelly pitched five innings and struck out eight batters to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 5-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on Monday.
The series is now tied at 3-3.
In the top of second inning Tommy Pham and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit back-to-back home runs to give Arizona a 2-0 lead.
Later in the second, Evan Longoria drove in another run with an RBI double. In the bottom of the second, Brandon Marsh got Philadelphia on the scoreboard with an RBI single. Ketel Marte extended the Diamondbacks with an RBI in both the fifth and seventh, making it 5-1.
For Arizona, Kelly pitched five innings with eight strikeouts, giving up one run.
For Philadelphia, Aaron Nola pitched 4.1 innings with four strikeouts, giving up four earned runs.
Game 7 is tomorrow at 5:07, with the winner set to take on the Texas Rangers in the World Series.
