WATCH: ‘A Quiet Place 2’ Returns with World Ravaged By Sound-Hunting Creatures

(KYMA/KECY) - One of the first big movies delayed by the pandemic last year is finally reaching theaters. The terror continues for the Abbott family in a world ravaged by creatures who hunt by sound in "A Quiet Place Part two."

Franchise newcomer Cillian Murphy says he especially enjoyed his intense scenes with returning star Millicent Simmonds.

"She's an extraordinary performer," said Murphy. "An extraordinary actor, and just a really beautiful person."

Simmonds, in turn, has high praise for writer-director John Krasinski.

"John, as a director, has the mindset of an actor," said Simmonds through an interpreter. "So he doesn't come in like other directors. He doesn't tell you like a dictator what to do. He's very, he's willing to explore -- he opens it up to a conversation to say 'what would you do in this situation? What are your feelings? What are your reactions?'"

Co-star Djimon Hounsou says even filming got scary.

"If the moment and the environment is so, like, well created for you to be scared," said Hounsou. "Yes, it does get spooky."
