Eight migrants rescued in Jacumba Wilderness over three days

OCOTILLO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - US Border Patrol says eight people were rescued over the course of three days in the Jacumba Wilderness.

At about 1:05 p.m. on Monday, agents were called regarding someone lost in Jacumba.

A 19-year-old woman from El Salvador, along with her two children, were found and were determined to not need medical assistance.

On late Wednesday afternoon, agents found a group of five people more than a mile away from the U.S./ Mexico border.

The group of Mexican migrants were dehydrated and taken to the hospital for treatment.

All eight people were later processed as they did not have the proper documentation to be in the United States.

El Centro Sector Border Patrol says they've rescued 210 people who were lost or in distress since October.
