Mural in South Bronx billed as the tallest in the U.S.

NEW YORK (NBC, KYMA) - A towering new mural in the South Bronx is celebrating the community's culture and history, while transforming the side of a high-rise into a colorful landmark.

Stretching nearly 300 feet up the side of a 29-story public housing tower, the artwork is being billed as the tallest mural in the United States and one of the tallest in the world.

Titled "Un Mar De Gente / From Every Shore," the mural was created by Dominican artist Nestor Garcia, known as Angurria.

The piece features residents across generations, highlighting the people and cultural heritage that define the South Bronx.

While painting took about a month, the project followed months of planning and community engagement, making the mural a striking tribute to neighborhood identity and pride.
