Train derailment leaves major wreckage in Alabama town

MAPLESVILLE, Ala. (CBS, KYMA) - A train derailed in the town of Maplesville, Alabama Thursday, wrecking several cars and spilling debris along the tracks, according to Chilton County officials.

The Chilton County Sheriff's Office said several boxcars spilled off the tracks, but no injuries were reported.

No hazardous materials were on board the train, emergency officials said.

Officials advised civilians to "stay away from the scene and allow time for all of this to be cleaned up."
