Marine Corps Air Station Yuma prepares for annual Airshow
Marine Corps Air Station Yuma is preparing for the 59th annual Yuma Airshow

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Those participating in the air show this weekend were rehearsing their flights and routines Friday morning.
From big planes to small ones, from fast cars to even faster planes, the MCASA airshow brings a variety of family fun entertainment.
Greg McShane, the airshow’s director for 18 years, talks about how they have to plan for the annual show two years in advance.
"There's about 139,000 different coordination things that need to be coordinated, planned out, and executed to make this an effective event," said McShane.

Colonel Jared Stone shares how many of the marines are also excited to see some of these amazing aviators in action.
"Not everybody flies the airplanes, right? Not everybody on the base actually works on airplanes. There's a lot of other jobs that go on here day in and day out. It's exciting for anybody to be out here on a flight line, so for a lot of the Marines who are involved in putting this on, it's exciting for them as well," said Cl. Stone.

Cl. Stone shares why this is a great opportunity for the local community to interact with military from around the world.
"Our relationship with the community here in Yuma is really critical to everything that we do, so it's really fun for us to have a day where we get to invite the community out to participate in Marine Corps Aviation, aviation at large, I think it's awesome," he said.
Gates open this Saturday at 9 a.m. and the show starts at 10:30 a.m.
